Number One Basset Hound All Breed*
*Dog News Top Ten
Hewgo came to us from Australia for fifteen months, and we are grateful that his Australian owner, Sheila Mutch, & breeder, Chris Lawrence, Beauchasseur Bassets allowed him to come.
Hewgo was owned in the States by Claudia Orlandi, Claire K. Steidel & Sheila Mutch.
Hewgo is pictured winning his first group in the United States under Judge Deb Graffmann at the First Company Governor’s Foot Guard Athletic Association Dog Show in Hartford, Connecticut.
Hewgo brings to the breeding program beautiful bone and breed type combined with good shoulders & angulation with wonderful feet. He is an athletic stallion hound and we look forward to breeding to him.

In his first weekend of shows in the States, Hewgo picked up ten points, including majors, and won the breed from the classes over specials and went on to place in the Group. Our appreciation to Douglas Johnson above right and Jim Sillers above left. He finished quickly and has distinguished himself in the show ring here in the United States.

Hewgo is pictured left at the NJ Hound Association Show under Judge Engh, and right at Troy Kennel Club going Hound Group 2 under Gayle Bontecou.

When Hewgo arrived at Logan Airport, it was quite cold.
It was quite a shock for Hewgo to come from Summer in Australia to the cold snow in Vermont. Hewgo made the best of the situation & loved the snow.
He said “Good Day Mate” to his new friends here at Topsfield Kennel.
Hewgo finished his title easily. We so enjoyed having Hewgo spend time with us.
Though lightly shown in Australia, Hewgo won 5 Puppy Hound groups, 2 Best Puppy in Show, 1 Junior Group, 1 Best Junior in Show & 3 Hound groups.
He was also Best of Breed at the Adelaide Royal Show.
