Hodie was a Group Placing Hound and Award of Merit Winner at the 1993 BHCA National Specialty and brought to our breeding program his overall balance & wonderful temperament.
Topsfield is indebted to Pat and Ted Ellis of Bone-A-Part Bassets, who were the home of many champions over the past couple of decades. Hodie was bred by the Ellis’s and Kelly McCoy-Davis (Longhorn Bassets) and was the foundation sire of the Topsfield show hounds. We are grateful to the Ellis’s early influence.

We were also fortunate at that time to meet Sue Frischmann, who was to later to become Show Manager and a permanent member of our Topsfield Family. The subsequent purchase of the linebred bitch, Bone-A-Part Topfield Tiz Tops served to further the success of our breeding program.
